We started working on our morning routine right away!  When we came into the classroom we hung up our backpacks, then came over to color a gingerbread man picture.  (Each morning, we'll do a coloring and/or cutting activity to make sure the class gets lots of practice with fine motor skills!)  Then we get to choose whether to color another picture, play on the rug, or work with manipulatives at the other table.

After we cleaned up our morning work, we had our morning Circle Time, then we all went to the bathroom for a potty break.  Next it was time to go outside!  We had a lot of fun.  Most of the time we had the playground to ourselves, but at the end the "little kids" came out to play too.  We were very kind to them and careful to play gently with them!

We came back inside to cool off and start our centers.  Miss Kathleen showed us clothespins that had our pictures and our names on them on pieces of colored paper so we would know what center to go to.  We had to pay attention to Miss Kathleen and Miss Paula when it was time to change so we knew where to go!  At Miss Kathleen's center, we played with blocks that had our pictures on them--we even matched them to our pictures and said our names!  At Miss Paula's center we learned how to use our glue pots and then glued our placemats together. While we waited for our friends to finish we played with building pegs.  At our rug center we built with bristle blocks and played with our Little People.

We took another bathroom break after our centers--and we made sure to wash our hands REALLY well!  Then it was time for snack.  We had animal crackers with nice cold water!  Then we cleaned up our places and came up to the rug for a story. Today we read The Gingerbread Cowboy and a lift-the-flap Gingerbread Man.
