We had a wonderful time today celebrating Halloween.  Thanks to everyone who helped!

Morning work

Comparing superheroes

Discussing princesses

Practicing one last time before trick-or-treating at Summer Breeze

We all lined up and walked over to Summer Breeze with the other 3s and 4s classes.

We used good manners saying trick or treat, please, and thank you to our friends, then we sang our Halloween songs for them.

We walked back to our school and stopped to take a class picture at the wind chime.  We each chose one piece of candy to eat before putting our Halloween treats away and playing with the parachute, taking turns bouncing spiders and skeletons all around!

Finally it was time for our party!  We had some delicious food--and lots of fun treats!

Monday, October 28

At Miss Kathleen's center we carved some of our class pumpkins.  Most of us didn't want to help scoop out the inside of the pumpkins:  It was kind of gooey and stinky!  After we finished, we matched skull parts!

At Miss Paula's center we added trees and leaves to our November placemats, then played with our fall squishy bags.

At our rug center, we raced our cars and played puppet theater with our hand puppets.

After centers we went outside and then came back in to celebrate one of our friends' birthdays.  It was a fun Monday!

Friday, October 25

Friday is our favorite day!   We get to have the playground all to ourselves, we have music with Miss Jenna, and we have centers and snack!

Playing firefighters

Girl talk

Wiggling slowly with Miss Jenna

"Wiggle faster!"

Practicing position words with our rhythm sticks (up, down, side, in front of, behind)

Cars at the rug center
Adding feathers to turkeys for our November placemats
Reading our Clifford magazine (and playing I SPY!)

Wednesday, October 23

At Miss Kathleen's center today we did lots of book stuff!  We practiced reading along with a cued tape, but this time Miss Kathleen pretended to be the tape player.  Every time she said, "BEEEEP!" we had to turn to the next page.  This was great practice on our listening skills!  Then we looked at our newest box of books: the I Spy books.

On the rug, we had two new centers: our cake/cupcake bakery and our cars/racetrack.  (Although this picture shows the girls all at the bakery center and the boys are all at the car center, this wasn't the case throughout the morning.  Everybody seemed to enjoy both centers!)

At Miss Paula's center we worked on a special surprise for Halloween, then we did some tracing and coloring of jack-o-lantern faces.

We had a lot of fun out on the playground.  We all seemed to spend a lot of time on the firetruck today!

Pumpkin Patch!

We had a great time at the pumpkin patch!  Thanks to all of our parents who helped out!
