Merry Christmas!

Wednesday, December 16

We went for a walk to check out WIPP's new swingset.  We can't wait until we get back from Christmas break so we can start swinging!

After we came in, we had centers.  At Miss Kathleen's center we decorated Christmas cookies for our party.  We used our fingers to spread the icing! At the rug center we had our last day of Potato Heads for a while.  We'll miss those!  At Miss Paula's center we made reindeer food, then put it in our backpacks to take home and spread outside on Christmas Eve.

After we cleaned up our centers, it was time for our party!  We had lots of great treats, lots of visitors, and lots of fun!

Monday, December 14

What a busy day!  First we went over to the Sanctuary to practice for our Christmas program.  We are so excited to perform on Friday!

Then we came back to our classroom for centers.  We're still enjoying the Potato Heads on the rug.  There's a lot of potato conversation and play-acting going on there!  At Miss Kathleen's center we did some Christmas activities and used our pattern blocks.  At Miss Paula's center we made a Christmas wreath and practiced our fine motor skills with tongs and pompoms.

We had a special birthday snack today.  We sang Happy Birthday to our friend then had some delicious Rice Krispie treats.  They were a big hit!

Friday, December 11

We've been practicing with our pattern blocks.  At Morning Work today, we extended our patterns upward!  We also were excited to have our scissors out so we could practice cutting.

After we cleaned up our Morning Work, we had Spanish with Senora Hillary.  We've been practicing a special Spanish song for our Christmas program next Friday!

At Miss Kathleen's center we played with our Christmas decorations and worked on a glittery Christmas ornament.  We had our Potato Heads at our rug center again.  We never get tired of them!  At Miss Paula's center we practiced our fine motor skills by peeling stickers.  Some of them were hard.  We also counted out pom-poms for Christmas tree ornaments--and worked our hand muscles by using tweezers.

At the end of the morning, we sang Happy Birthday to one of our friends then enjoyed a special birthday snack.  It was a great Friday!

Wednesday, December 9

Our day started out silly!  Our friends came to our class to practice our songs for the Christmas program.  We are pretty good singers!

Next we went outside to the playground.  First we stopped by to say hello to Mr. and Mrs. Frosty.  Then we enjoyed the warm weather on the playground.

When we came inside we started our centers.  We had some messy hand and foot painting that both Miss Paula and Miss Kathleen were helping with, so we don't have any pictures from centers today.  Check back on Friday!

Monday, December 7

We had a silly, mixed-up day today!  First we went over to the church to practice for our Christmas program.  We did a really good job--not only were we good singers, but we were also very patient waiting for everyone else to perform.

On the way back to the classroom we discovered a snowman in the garden!

Before we had centers, we had our snack!  Then we showed Miss Meredith (Miss Paula wasn't here today so Miss Meredith was helping in our room.) how well we could write, draw, and cut.  We played with Potato Heads and a new wooden Nativity set at the rug center, and we did lots of Christmas things at Miss Kathleen's center.  We had fun!
