Monday, March 28

It might have been chilly and rainy outside, but we had a warm and wonderful day inside!

Two of the things included at one of our morning work tables were a tub of unifix cubes and a tub of ladders.  These have been out before, but this morning the children began to combine them in some new and different ways.  It's always interesting to see how "old" toys become new again!

One of my favorite parts of the day is when we say the Pledge of Allegiance and sing "Salute the Flag".  Here you see us getting our salutes ready for our flag song.

Monday, March 21

We're always busy as soon as we come into the classroom.  Our morning work is always fun and usually something that helps us practice our fine motor skills--and thinking!

At our rug center we had all of our Little People sets out.  We had castles and farms and jungles!  We worked with PlayDoh at Mrs. Hennessy's center.  We had a lot of fun using all of our PlayDoh cutters and rollers and stampers.  At Miss Kathleen's center we finished our coffee filter butterflies and then we colored a picture of a butterfly.

Here is our normal routine after we clean up our snack.  While we wait for our friends to finish and clean up their places, we go up to the rug and get a book to read.

Friday, March 11

In centers we worked on making tissue paper shamrocks, spring flower necklaces, and housekeeping/dramatic play.  As soon as we finished centers, Miss Caitlin came in and we had music.  That's always fun!  We went outside for a little bit and then came in for a birthday celebration.  What a busy day!

St. Patrick's Day

There are additional pictures and links on the school blog, but here are some of just our class!

Monday, March 7

First we did our morning work at tables.

Then we worked at our centers and took an outside break.

Wednesday, March 2

We had another busy day at our centers!  At Miss Kathleen's center, we painted and then made some pictures with stickers when we finished.  At Mrs. Hennessy's center, we had fun with glitter.  We made some beautiful shamrocks to help us get ready for St. Patrick's Day.  At our rug center, we had some dramatic play fun with our kitchen equipment and our baby dolls.

Then we got to go outside and enjoy the beautiful spring weather!

Monday, February 28

We worked really hard at our centers today.  We read a book with Miss Kathleen about finding leprechauns (and practiced some directional words at the same time.)  When we finished we played BINGO.  With Mrs. Hennessy we played Chutes and Ladders (and again practiced some of our directional words!) then colored a leprechaun picture.  At our rug center we built with our brick blocks and our soft squares.  In the picture below you can see us in our "campground" set-up!

We also got to enjoy some great outside time on the playground today.  Hopefully, this warm weather is here to stay!
