When we came back inside we put on our Groovy Ruby Valentine song and bounced the parachute. Since there are only 12 handles on the parachute, some of us got to dance while the others played parachute. We did a great job freezing when the music stopped so we could switch places. (I wish I had thought to record this instead of just taking photos. The kids were so excited during this--it was contagious!)
After we finished with our parachute, we had an early birthday snack! We sang Happy Birthday to our friend, then had some delicious cupcakes and birthday treats. Everything tasted so good! Some of us got a little messy, but it was worth it!
Finally, it was time for centers. We had our horses and cardboard blocks at our rug center for the last day. We've really started to do some dramatic play with these. Below you can see us working together to build some stables where the horses could sleep.
At Miss Paula's center, we created some Valentine art with heart cut-outs and glue sticks. At Miss Kathleen's center, we counted, traced, and colored ten hearts and then found our names on the class Valentine list. Some of us also traced/colored our names or our friends' names.
