We talked a little more about fire safety today at our Morning Circle.  We learned about fire drills that help you practice what to do if there's a fire, and we read a book about firehouse dogs.  Another name for this kind of dog is a dalmatian.  When it was time for centers we made some of our own dalmatians! Some of us put a whole lot of spots on our dalmatians!

At Miss Kathleen's center, we played a fire truck math game.  We had to count out tiny pom-poms and put the correct number on each fire truck...1,2,3!  After we finished we put our pompoms into a ziploc bag and brought our firetruck paper and pompoms home to practice.  (If you play this at home, you can use tweezers or toothpicks to move the pompoms to the correct fire trucks.  This increases the fine motor difficulty for those children who are ready.)

At our rug center we continued to play with our Fire Safety center and our small puppets.  We had some really interesting dramatic play at this center today!  According to one of our friends, "Firemen are better than superheroes!"
