One of the things we did during Morning Work was a 24-piece Halloween puzzle without a frame. (This is an added level of complexity because the kids have to use the picture on the box to figure out how the straight-edged outside pieces fit together along with the inside shapes.) After we finished, Miss Kathleen turned out the lights and we found out that parts of it glowed in the dark!
At our rug center today we continued to play with our car garage and blocks. The picture below shows one of our all-girl groups at the rug center. Their play stretched the entire width of the room and encompassed the kitchen area, the teacher chair, and the actual rug. (We had two all-girl groups and one all-boy group at centers today!)
At Mrs. Hennessy's center we decorated our trick-or-treat bags for our trip to Summer Breeze next week. When we finished we popped bubble wrap! Some of the little bubbles were hard to pop, but it makes our fingers stronger for writing and coloring.
At Miss Kathleen's center we painted jack-o-lantern faces on some pumpkins. We did a great job of just painting the face part of the stencils and not around the outside.
After centers we had some time on the playground (Check the WIPP blog tomorrow for a timeline for the new playground!) with our friends, then we came in and had a special birthday snack. It was delicious! Some of us even packed up our Cinderella plates and napkins to take home with us!
