It seemed as if we had been away from school forever!  After our morning work and our calendar, we said the Pledge of Allegiance and sang Salute the Flag.  We also practiced counting to ten in Spanish today.  Some of us already knew some of the Spanish number words, so it was just a review for us!

In centers today we practiced cutting on lines (and repositioning our scissors for easier cutting!) and made magic crayon snowflakes with Miss Kathleen.  We used our tracers and some big kid pencils with Miss Hennessey--or we traced name cards with markers if we got tired of our tracer shapes.  On the rug, we had some of our Little People toys out and some new My Little Pony sets.  We really liked them!

It was kind of cold and damp so we couldn't really go outside to play.  Instead we took a walk around the Memorial Gardens and saw some Spanish moss, some red berries on the holly trees, some woodpeckers, and a blue jay.  Then we went to see if the playground was wet.  There were so many puddles we only found one dry place to sit down--the covered bench!  We were ready to come back into our nice dry room and have snack after that!
