When we came back in we got ready for centers. At our rug center we had our Littlest Pet Shop and castle blocks. We had a lot of fun with both of those. At Miss Paula's center we made jack-o-lanterns! First we used our felt boards to decorate a felt pumpkin with different shapes, then did tracing and rubbings of plastic jack-o-lanterns. At Miss Kathleen's center we did a lot of little things. First we read a Clifford Halloween magazine and used our "I Spy" eyes to find things; then we voted on which drink we liked best (Most of us liked chocolate milk!); next we strengthened our hand muscles by sharpening some crayons for a project we're doing on Friday; and last we matched up big H and little h and talked about words that begin with the H sound!

What an exciting--and loud--day! We got to see and hear the roofers while they were working on the new roof for our school. We also had to bundle up in our jackets to go outside today. Some of us borrowed jackets from Miss Kathleen to help us stay warm--and some of us wanted to take our jackets off and run around in short sleeves!
