Wednesday, April 30

We did things a little differently today because of the rain--starting with a little extra time for our Morning Work.  We played with Mr. Potato Heads, read books, built with our Crystal Climbers, and worked with our manipulatives with Miss Paula.

After we cleaned up all of our Morning Work and put everything away, it was time for our centers.  We had a great time at our rug center with our construction set and guitars.  At Miss Paula's center we had a little bit of everything: magnetic jars; using tweezers and pompoms, and stringing letter beads.  At Miss Kathleen's center we used our magnet boards and trays to make build some amazing creations.

After our centers and snack, we had a little time before reading Froggy Plays Soccer, so we did a little dancing to the Frozen soundtrack!

Monday, April 28

It was a little warm outside this morning, but it didn't keep us from running around and having fun.  It's been while since we played in the sandbox--and almost everyone wanted a turn today!

When we came in for centers, we were glad to cool off in the air-conditioned building.  At our rug center, we had another day playing with our office and we also had our construction center.  At Miss Paula's center we made our May calendars and then played with Mr. Potato Heads.  At Miss Kathleen's center we worked on a gift for our moms and then designed with our Pop-Beads.

After our centers we got to sing "Happy Birthday" to one of our friends and then share a special birthday treat.  It was a great day!

Friday, April 25

We had so much much to do today that we didn't even get to centers!  We started the day outside, then we had music with Miss Jenna, then we went over to the Sanctuary to practice for our Mother's Day program!  WHEW!  By the time we finished our practice, it was time to wash our hands for a special birthday snack for one of our friends!  We're glad it's Friday!

Wednesday, April 23

We had a surprise when we got to the classroom this morning--Miss Kathleen rearranged the furniture over break!  We had new cubbies and new shelves!  As one of us said, "This doesn't even look like my home any more!"

We were really busy today getting our class picture taken, playing on the playground, and having centers.  At Miss Paula's center we stamped butterflies for our May placemats then played with Potato Heads while we waited for our friends to finish.  At Miss Kathleen's center we started working on a surprise for our Mother's Day program--and we played with our Crystal Climbers.  At our rug center we played office.  We had a lot of fun with that.  Miss Kathleen made sure to get a picture of us using all of the phones to "take pictures"--including the old-fashioned rotary landline phones!  (It took a minute to figure out why the kids were all holding these phones up to their eyes!)

Happy Easter!

We had a great morning at the park despite the windy, chilly weather!
