What a busy morning!  We rushed through our centers so we could practice with the whole school for our Christmas program.  Then we spent a few minutes outside before coming in for our classroom Christmas party.  As you can see from our pictures, it was a lot of fun!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Friday, December 14

We had a silly, mixed-up day today!  First our friends came to our room to practice Feliz Navidad.  Today our boys wore their sombreros and our girls used their maraca shakers while we sang (and danced!)  Next Miss Megan came and we had more wonderful music before going outside and having our delicious healthy snack.

We were ready for some hard work and play at our centers.  We had our horses and our Nativity at our rug center again today--and our horses again spent some time visiting the stable.  We did some messy shaving cream and glitter at Mrs. Hennessy's center.  Some of us were a little hesitant about mixing these two things together, while others jumped right in!  At Miss Kathleen's center we made sticker pictures of the Nativity--and sang our "Knock, Knock, Knock Went Joseph" song while we worked.  (You can hear a very short clip of this below!)

Here are the other songs we'll be singing with the rest of the school.  The youtube links will help give you an idea of the tune!

We Wish You A Merry Christmas
We wish you a Merry Christmas
We wish you a Merry Christmas
We wish you a Merry Christmas
And a Happy New Year!

Wednesday, December 12

We had a busy day today!  We practiced singing Feliz Navidad with our friends from the other 3s classes, then we had centers, then we had a visit from some special animals!  (See the school blog for photos from this.)

At our rug center we continued to play with our Nativity scene, our horses, and our chalkboard easel.  Today our horses made their way to the stable--which also served as a vet's office for a little while!  At Mrs. Hennessy's center we made reindeer food!  Look for this in our backpacks today.  When we finished that we made some mosaic designs while our friends finished their work.  At Miss Kathleen's center we glittered a sparkly ornament and we colored some Christmas pictures.  We got a lot done today!

Monday, December 10

We're working on some secret projects to bring home next week!  Here you can see us at Mrs. Hennessy's center getting our fingers and hands painted white.  While we were waiting our turn we used crayons and Christmas stickers to make pictures.

Listening to directions!
That tickles!

At Miss Kathleen's center we decorated Christmas trees with Q-tips and paint.  Some of us made dots like lights and others made lots of swirling colors.  It also gave us an opportunity to practice mixing colors to make new ones.

I need a new Q-tip!
Lights and swirling ribbons!

At our rug center, we still had our stable and Nativity sets out, but we also had our chalkboard easel and a box of horses.  There were lots of choices to make today!

Friday, December 7

We had a very small class today because so many of our friends are sick.  We hope they all get better soon!  We missed them!

We had music with Miss Megan today.  We practiced some of our Christmas songs and we heard a new story about a pig with a very long nose.  It made us laugh out loud!

Our centers were kind of mixed up today.  We took turns playing with our nativity scenes and Christmas tree on the rug while Mrs. Hennessy helped some of us make reindeer candy canes.  At our other center we wrapped Christmas presents.  We used tape and bows and tissue paper--and had a lot of fun.  We even made a game of guessing what was in each package we wrapped.

Wednesday, December 5

There aren't many pictures from our centers today because both Miss Kathleen and Mrs. Hennessy were busy painting!  We had our hands and our feet painted to make a special Christmas gift for our mommies.  You might see some leftover paint hidden between our toes at bath time tonight!

We also had practice for our Christmas program today.  We all sang some songs together, and then the 3s came up to sing Feliz Navidad.  We did a pretty good job today, but we're also bringing a phonetic copy of the lyrics home so we can keep practicing.
