At Miss Terry's center we worked on wrapping a Valentine's surprise for our mommies, then we traced and counted some beautiful hearts.  At Miss Kathleen's center we started working on a surprise for our dads when they come and have donuts with us.  At our rug center we continued to build with our big cardboard bricks, but we also had our Barbies/Superheroes crate out for the first time.  We had fun!

We also had music with Miss Becca today.  We read and sang The Very Hungry Caterpillar--and did the Chicken Dance again!

Monday, February 6

We had some great centers today!  Miss Carmen helped us create Valentine crafts at her center.  We worked with all different materials to make some cool art!  We used toilet paper heart shapes to stamp designs at Miss Kathleen's center.  After we stamped on red papers we covered them with white papers to make a magic mirror image.  We had another day of our dollhouses and big cardboard bricks at our rug center.  We're having a lot of fun with both of those!

One of our favorite parts of the day is after snack when we pick books from our classroom library.  Our latest boxes are Mo Willems' books and Mickey Mouse/Walt Disney books.  We've gotten really good at putting our books back in the right library boxes when we bring them back.

Friday, February 3

After Morning Work and our time outside on the playground, we came in for centers.  At Miss Kathleen's center we decorated our Valentine bags--and worked our finger muscles peeling stickers! At Miss Terri's center we made PlayDoh Valentine's candy.  We even had some candy boxes we filled up with our creations.  At the rug center we had another day of doll houses and big bricks.  We've begun to do some really interesting building with our big bricks!

After we cleaned up our centers we had music with Miss Becca.  We sang a silly song about farm animals and rabbits--and we danced the chicken dance! That was a blast!  (For those of you who don't know the tune:  https://youtu.be/Hb9FwlubyIQ )

Wednesday, February 1

We really like the new bulletin board in the hallway!

We had a great time outside!

We worked on our Donuts with Dads invitations and made some cool hearts from our ice-painted pages at Miss Kathleen's center.

We played with our dollhouses and cardboard bricks at the rug center.

We did all kinds of Groundhog Day things at Miss Laura's center!

We have been reading Mo Willems' books this week--it's our newest box of box in our class library.  Today we started to watch a video read-aloud of Don't Let the Pigeon Stay Up Late!

Monday, January 30

After our Morning Work, we spent a little bit of time outside.  It took us a while to get our coats on, though!  We practice this skill every cold day.

After we came in and warmed up, we started our centers.  At Miss Laura's center, we worked on some Groundhog Day projects.  We'll bring these home on Wednesday.  At Miss Kathleen's center we painted with ice cubes and red/white powder paint.  We're going to turn these into something special for Valentine's Day.  At our rug center, we still had our dollhouses, but we also had cardboard bricks.  They were really fun to build with!
