Wednesday, October 26

We had another busy day today!  After our Morning Work, we went over to the Youth Education building and practiced our Halloween songs with our other friends from the 3s and 4s.  Then we went out on the playground to run around and play.  Finally it was time to come inside and start our centers.

At our Rug Center, we had our blocks for building and some Littlest Pet Shop toys for dramatic play. At Miss Paula's center we did our November calendars and then made silly felt jack-o-lanterns.  At Miss Kathleen's center, we walked outside to get our pictures taken for our November placemats, then came back in and peeled corn and laced Halloween pictures.

After we cleaned up our centers, we sang Happy Birthday to one of our friends, then had a special birthday snack!

We had a great time on the playground this morning.  We ran and ran and ran!

We came in and started centers.  Miss Paula and Miss Kathleen used teamwork to help us stamp pumpkins on our shirts while we worked with manipulatives and building blocks.

Next we had music with Miss Becca.  We played instruments, sang songs, and danced.

Finally we had a special snack for our friend's birthday.  We love cupcakes!

Wednesday, October 19

We had a great start to our day.  We built with bristle blocks and ladders on the rug--we had a lot of teamwork going on!  At our manipulative table we worked some puzzles and built up our finger muscles by peeling kernels off corn cobs.  We continued to work on our coloring and cutting skills too!

After some fun time on the playground, we came back in to our cool classroom for centers.  At Miss Kathleen's center we used our I SPY eyes and listening skills to play Halloween BINGO. We used teeny-tiny chocolate chips as markers--then we got to eat them!  At Miss Paula's center we practiced lots of fine motor skills.  We peeled stickers for bookmarks, laced up Halloween shapes, and made felt board stories!  At our rug center we had one last day for our fire/rescue center.  We also had pirate puppets and pirate ships!

Monday, October 3

After our Morning Work of building, cutting/coloring, and manipulatives, we all took a turn feeding coins to our kitty cat to donate for animals who don't have anyone to take care of them.  We loved listening to the cat say, "Meow!"

We spent some time out on the playground before coming in to start centers.  At Miss Kathleen's center we read a Clifford magazine about apples then washed and dried some apples for a snack!  At the rug center we had our puppets again along with our fire fighter box.  We had a lot of fun with that! We made some really cool sun-catchers with Miss Paula. First we had to tear up red, yellow, and orange crepe paper into little pieces; then we put it in a plastic bag; then Miss Paula added a little water so we could squish it and swish it; then we put it inside a pumpkin shape!  They were beautiful!
