Monday, April 13

We were so glad to be back at school!  We had a great time checking out the books in our new book crate during Morning Work.  All of these books have an Mm on the back because they're from Mickey Mouse's friends (Walt Disney.)

It was too wet to go to the playground so we took a walk around the park.  Each of us had to find one thing from the ground that was smaller than our hand to bring back in for Miss Kathleen's center.  We looked at all of our treasures under magnifying glasses!  We also finished our "April showers bring May flowers" artwork  We loved messing with all of the glitter that fell off our papers!

At our rug center we played with some new Little People toys.  We even had cars and buses for them to ride!  At Miss Paula's center we worked our fingers with Moon Sand.  We also had some dramatic play there--retelling the story of David and Goliath that we read at Morning Circle!

Happy Easter!

Thank you to everyone who helped make our Easter party so much fun!  We had moon sand, diggers, bubbles, an Easter egg hunt, delicious food, kazoos, bouncing balls, and a hammock!

BIKE DAY!!!

We had a wonderful time riding our bikes at school today.  We did a great job riding our vehicles over to the front lot; circling around the chairs in the middle of the road; resting in the blue lot when we needed to; and getting everybody back safely to our classroom!

When we got back inside we washed up and had our snack!  Then we went to centers.  We played with our finger puppets and Little People on the rug.  We also had our kid blocks for some building.  At Miss Paula's center we explored our Easter sensory bin and made patterns with teddy bears.  We've gotten really good at making patterns!  At Miss Kathleen's center we built with our ELLOS.  Today we added some of the big ELLO pieces so we could make houses and other structures.

Friday, March 27

It was so nice to be able to go on the playground today.  It was a little bit wet, but we had a ton of fun!

When we came in we got started on our centers.  We had our finger puppets and colored wooden blocks on the rug.  We used teamwork to build some cool towers that our puppets could play on.  At Miss Paula's center we played Easter BINGO.  We had to use our listening ears and looking eyes to make sure we covered the correct squares.  We also made some patterns with our colored squares.  At Miss Kathleen's center we made Easter bunny puppets.  We also sang "Little Rabbit Foo Foo" with our bunnies and had to decide whether to bop the field mice (and get turned into a goon) or kiss them (and go to lunch with the fairy!)

Little Rabbit Foo Foo
Little rabbit Foo Foo
Hopping through the forest
Picking up the field mice
And bopping them on the head
Along came the fairy and said to rabbit Foo Foo
"Little rabbit Foo Foo
I don't want to see you
Picking up the field mice
And 'bopping them on the head
Or I'm going to have to turn you into a goon!"

*We sing this a couple of times and then stop and decide whether the rabbit should bop the mice on the head or kiss them on the head.  If the kids choose bop, we sing the song but change the last line into "I'm going to have to turn you into a goon--POOF!"
If the kids choose kissing them on the head, we sing:
Little rabbit Foo Foo
Hopping through the forest
Picking up the field mice
And kissing them on the head
Along came the fairy and said to rabbit Foo Foo
"Little rabbit Foo Foo
I'm so happy to see you
Picking up the field mice
And kissing them on the head.
I'm going to take you to lunch!
Where do you want to go?"
Then we pick a place and say they all went to lunch there!

We also have replaced Foo Foo's names with our own names so we can sing about ourselves!
