We  started working on our Mother's Day present at Mrs. Hennessy's center, but this is the only clue we'll give you!  When we didn't have painted hands, we worked on our fine motor skills by stringing straw pieces on pipe cleaners.

At Miss Kathleen's center we read a magazine about rabbits--and learned that baby rabbits are called kittens, and that rabbit families live in tunnels in the ground called warrens.  We also practiced our names--and drawing faces!

At our rug center we had a whole new set of Little People to play with.  The school bus and the garage were big hits.  We also continued to experiment with our gear table.

Monday, April 15

We enjoyed using our crayons, scissors, and glue at one of our Morning Work tables today.  We also did puzzles, puppets, and magnetics.

At Miss Kathleen's center we reviewed bike safety rules--and then colored in some of the pages in our St. Jude booklet.  At our rug center we played with our Little People and our gears.  There was some great teamwork at our gear station!  At Miss Hennessy's center we made butterflies using the straws that we had cut up last week.  We used lots of glue to make sure everything would stick!

Even though it was a little wet, we went outside and had a great time!

Friday, April 12

We had a sweet start to our day enjoying donuts with our dads and special friends.  Look for a special photo coming home next week of each of us with our dad.  We got busy after that with our circle time, centers, and some playground fun.

Rug center:  Gears, gears, and more gears!

Geoboards:  Patterns and pictures

Thumbprint strawberries for our May placemats

Pop-beads:  Designs, fingers, and toes!

Wednesday, April 10

We had a silly day today!  Miss Lori took our class picture as soon as we cleaned up our Morning Work.  Since we were already outside, we decided that we'd play on the playground first!  Then we came in and washed up for a delicious snack of Goldfish and raisins!  Finally it was time for centers!

We continued to play with our Little People on the rug; worked on "wrapping" our gifts for our dads at Miss Kathleen's center then built with our Bristle Blocks; and cut straws and snapped beads at Mrs. Hennessy's center.  We also practiced our I Love You Daddy song for Friday.  We can't wait!

We noticed another set of "twins" as we were lining up for our class picture!

Monday, April 8

We were all so happy to see our friends this morning!  We had some new things out at Morning Work today--we especially liked the finger puppets on the rug.  We also enjoyed our old favorites of crayons, fancy scissors, and glue!

We had a big tub of  Little People at our rug center.  We found animals and princesses and construction workers and lots of other characters to play with in the jungle, the farm, and the car wash!

At Mrs. Hennessy's center, we glued cupcake liner centers onto our coffee filter flowers.  We brought one home with us today, but kept another at school to help decorate our room.  When we finished our flowers, we explored with some of our new snap-together beads.  They were fun!

At Miss Kathleen's center we continued to work on some surprises for our Donuts with Dads on Friday.  Some of us really wanted to take our gifts home today--it's hard to wait!  When we finished we drew and colored with markers.  We LOVE markers!

Finally we went outside to enjoy the beautiful weather.  We even took a walk over to our old playground to see all the work that's being done.  Almost everything has been cleared away to make room for a grassy play area.   We can't wait to try it out!

Happy Easter!

Thanks to Daisy for hosting our Easter party!  We had a blast!
