Happy Easter!

We had a great morning at the park despite the windy, chilly weather!

Monday, April 14

We were very busy during Morning Work today!  Some of us played with the magnet boards; some of us read books; some of us played with Potato Heads; and some of us acted silly pretending we had Potato Head hands!

After we cleaned up our Morning Work, we went outside to enjoy the beautiful weather.  We found pollen on the slides and we knew there must be some in the air.  It made some eyes and noses itchy!

When we came back inside we started our centers.  We played office at our rug center today.  We answered phones, worked on computers, and wrote notes.  At Miss Paula's center we had our last day of playing with Easter eggs and the Easter sensory bin.  We've really enjoyed those!  At Miss Kathleen's center we filled our Easter baskets with all of the crafts that we made.  We were excited to take everything home to show our families.  While we waited for our friends to finish their centers, we worked our fine motor skills by putting golf tees and pipe cleaners into a big foam board.  We made lots of cool designs!

Friday, April 13

Thanks to all of our dads who joined us for donuts and juice today.  We enjoyed a treat, gave them the gifts we made, and then sang I Love My Daddy!  It was the perfect way to start our Friday.

After our dads left, we went out on the playground for a little while before coming back in to music class with Miss Jenna.

We had a lot of fun at our centers today.  At Miss Paula's center we made bunny hats!  We listened really well to the directions--and then got to wear our hats while we finished our centers!  At Miss Kathleen's center we read a magazine about insects and learned that ALL insects have two antennae and six legs.  After that we practiced drawing our own insects.  At the rug center we had one more day to play with our Little People and our big building bricks.

Monday, April 7

We worked a little longer than usual at our Morning Work today.  There was a big Bob the Builder puzzle on the rug that we put together using lots of teamwork.  We also really liked the trays of magnet builders.

After enjoying the warm weather outside on the playground, we came in got ready for centers.  At our rug center we had our tub of Little People and our giant building LEGOS.  We've gotten so good at building big towers that Miss Kathleen had to make a new rule that we could only build as high as our heads.  So...then we started building flat on the rug!

At Miss Paula's center we painted bunny ears for a little hat we'll make later this week.  While we waited for all of our friends to finish we played in our Easter sensory tub.  At Miss Kathleen's center we used our mirror board to do a little counting and matching.  We also held our cards up to the mirror and then added up how many we had when our numbers doubled.  While we waited for all of the other centers to finish we made some Easter bunny hats by putting elastic hairbands on little cups.

Wednesday, April 2

We had a very busy day today.  After some time on the playground, we came in and got busy with our centers.  We worked on a little gift for our dads at Miss Paula's center.  At Miss Kathleen's center we built towers and made patterns on our mirror board.  At our rug center we had our last day of playing with our dollhouse and our cars.  We loved all of our centers today!
