BIKE DAY!!!

We had a wonderful time riding our bikes at school today.  We did a great job riding our vehicles over to the front lot; circling around the chairs in the middle of the road; resting in the blue lot when we needed to; and getting everybody back safely to our classroom!

When we got back inside we washed up and had our snack!  Then we went to centers.  We played with our finger puppets and Little People on the rug.  We also had our kid blocks for some building.  At Miss Paula's center we explored our Easter sensory bin and made patterns with teddy bears.  We've gotten really good at making patterns!  At Miss Kathleen's center we built with our ELLOS.  Today we added some of the big ELLO pieces so we could make houses and other structures.

Friday, March 27

It was so nice to be able to go on the playground today.  It was a little bit wet, but we had a ton of fun!

When we came in we got started on our centers.  We had our finger puppets and colored wooden blocks on the rug.  We used teamwork to build some cool towers that our puppets could play on.  At Miss Paula's center we played Easter BINGO.  We had to use our listening ears and looking eyes to make sure we covered the correct squares.  We also made some patterns with our colored squares.  At Miss Kathleen's center we made Easter bunny puppets.  We also sang "Little Rabbit Foo Foo" with our bunnies and had to decide whether to bop the field mice (and get turned into a goon) or kiss them (and go to lunch with the fairy!)

Little Rabbit Foo Foo
Little rabbit Foo Foo
Hopping through the forest
Picking up the field mice
And bopping them on the head
Along came the fairy and said to rabbit Foo Foo
"Little rabbit Foo Foo
I don't want to see you
Picking up the field mice
And 'bopping them on the head
Or I'm going to have to turn you into a goon!"

*We sing this a couple of times and then stop and decide whether the rabbit should bop the mice on the head or kiss them on the head.  If the kids choose bop, we sing the song but change the last line into "I'm going to have to turn you into a goon--POOF!"
If the kids choose kissing them on the head, we sing:
Little rabbit Foo Foo
Hopping through the forest
Picking up the field mice
And kissing them on the head
Along came the fairy and said to rabbit Foo Foo
"Little rabbit Foo Foo
I'm so happy to see you
Picking up the field mice
And kissing them on the head.
I'm going to take you to lunch!
Where do you want to go?"
Then we pick a place and say they all went to lunch there!

We also have replaced Foo Foo's names with our own names so we can sing about ourselves!

Monday, March 23

We had some new things to work with out on the table and rug this morning.  We looked at shells and animals with our magnifying glasses at the manipulative table.  On the rug we had some new Little People to help us act out stories.

At our rug center today we switched our big puppets for some little finger puppets. We had a house and a puppet theater to help with our dramatic play. At Miss Paula's center we made our placemats for next month.  We used the marker-dyed eggs that we made at centers on Friday.  Our placemats look great!  At Miss Kathleen's center we played Easter BINGO!  We did a great job of following directions and covering up our spaces.

Friday, March 20

It was too wet to go out on the playground this morning, so we read the book Little Cloud by Eric Carle and then went outside to explore our own little fog cloud.

When we came in we got started on our centers.  We had our puppets again at our rug center.  Miss Paula helped us make our April calendars.  They have little pompom chicks on them!  At Miss Kathleen's center we colored eggs with magic markers, then dripped water on them to make beautiful swirly Easter eggs!

After we cleaned up our centers and washed our hands, we had a delicious healthy snack.  Almost everybody liked the blueberries best!
