Rug center: dollhouse and cars

Friday, March 28

We started our day outside--and the weather was beautiful!  It was so nice and warm that we needed a water break when we came inside.  Then we did our calendar and said the Pledge of Allegiance before getting started on our centers.

At our rug center, we had our dollhouse and our car garage. We always love those!  At Miss Paula's center we worked on our April calendars.  They're so cute!  Today we put some paper grass and pom-pom chicks on them.  At MIss Kathleen's center we made an Easter bunny decoration that we'll bring home later.  (We still have another part to finish!)

Bike Day!

We had such a great day today!  We were so excited about bringing our bikes and scooters to school!  After our Morning Work and Calendar, we had music with Miss Jenna.  One of the songs she sang with us today was all about rhyming words--most of us did a really good job with that.

Finally it was time for us to get our bikes!  Miss Paula and Miss Kathleen helped us put on our helmets then we walked our bikes over to the front parking lot.  We waited in our blue parking space while Miss Kathleen moved her car to block off our riding track.  Then off we went!

Some of us rode the whole time and some of us took some breaks to hang out and talk, but we all had fun!

Monday, March 24

We started our day on the playground where it was a little bit cool and breezy.  That didn't slow us down!  We ran and climbed and played and built sand castles in the sandbox!  When we came inside we settled down and started our centers.

At our rug center we had our dollhouse and fire station.  Everybody played together setting up families, rescuing them and then starting all over!  At Miss Paula's center we used water bottles to paint flower petals on our April placemats.  We worked on following directions and tried to count how many flowers we added to our papers.  Some of us did an extra painting to bring home.  At Miss Kathleen's center we talked about the story of Daniel and then did a color puzzle picture of a lion.  We tried to match our colors to the 1s, 2s, and 3s on the paper.  We can finish the picture for homework if we want!

Friday, March 21

We had a lot of fun at our Morning Work table today.  We especially liked the teddy bears.  We counted and sorted and told stories about the bears!  Then we went outside on the playground and had a great time.  A lot of us looked for all of the places we could find pollen!

When we came in we had music with Miss Jenna.  We loved feeling the sound vibrations in her drum--and we liked playing it too!

At today's rug center we had our doll house and our fire engines.  There was a lot of good dramatic play going on in this center today!  At Miss Paula's table we started our invitations for Donuts with Dads then played in our Easter sensory tub while we waited for all of our friends to finish.  At Miss Kathleen's center we read about bike/trike riding safety rules to get ready for our St. Jude Trike-a-Thon next week.

Wednesday, March 20

We were so glad to get back and see our friends today!  First we went on a walk around the building to see all of the new spring decorations, then we headed to the playground.  There were some new things on the playground too.  We especially liked the turtle sandbox!

When we came back inside, so many of us were hungry that we had snack right away.  Then we went to our centers.  At our rug center we had our baby dolls and our giant BRIX blocks.  We did lots of talking and lots of building.  At Miss Paula's center we played Animal Lotto and then waited for our friends to finish their centers while we played in the new Spring sensory bin.  At Miss Kathleen's center we worked on putting puzzles together, talking about different strategies for figuring out where the pieces went.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Enjoy your Spring Break!  See you on Wednesday, March 19th!
