We were glad to be back at school today! We started our day outside, then came in for music with Miss Jenna.  We're continuing to learn about reading music--and singing and dancing too!

At our centers today, Miss Paula helped us make our February calendars.  They have really cool penguins on them!

At Miss Kathleen's center we talked about Groundhog Day and made little groundhog puppets that popped out of a hole.  Our groundhogs spent a little bit of time talking to each in silly voices!

At our rug center, we had our horses and our big cardboard blocks.  We built some really good stables and fences for our horses using teamwork.

After we cleaned up our centers we had a special birthday treat.  We sang happy birthday and then enjoyed cupcakes with lots of icing (as you can see in these pictures!)

We had some new things out for Morning Work this morning--and we enjoyed them!

After our Morning Circle, we went out on the playground to enjoy the beautiful weather.

After we came inside, we started our centers.  At our rug center we played with our tub of horses and our giant cardboard blocks.  We showed some great teamwork while building stables and pathways.  At Miss Paula's center we played with Moon Sand.  It was messy, but fun!  At Miss Kathleen's center we read a Clifford magazine about snow, counted pompom buttons on our snowmen, and then did some writing.

Friday, January 24: PJ Day!

We had so much fun wearing our pajamas today.  We popped popcorn; invited our friends from Mrs. Smith's class to come over; watched two Diego videos; and had hot chocolate and a sugar cookie!  It was a perfect way to end the week!

We had a messy day today in our classroom!  (But it was fun!)

First we headed out to the playground where we found some ice on the sliding board.  We had some ice races on the slides and then searched the whole playground to see if we could find ice anywhere else.

When we came inside we had music with Miss Jenna.  That's always fun!  We worked hard at following our patterns with shakers, rhythm sticks, and rests.  We also had a great time singing and dancing!

At our Rug Center, we had another day of playing with our Little People.  At Miss Paula's center, we made snow dough (two parts cornstarch to one part hair conditioner) that got us very messy!  We got to put it in a ziploc bag to bring home with us.  If you put it in the refrigerator, it will get really cold all over again!  At Miss Kathleen's center, we had some more messy time making snow (equal parts baking soda and shaving foam) and then "melting" it with vinegar.  We had a lot of cleaning up to do before we had our snack!
