We had so much fun today!  Miss Lesley helped us wait patiently until it was time to go over to the church--and then we went in and sang!

Feliz Navidad!

Wednesday, December 17

Our last real school day before Christmas break was a busy one.  Our friends from the other 3s classes came over to our room to practice our songs for the Christmas program.  We did a really good job!  Then we went out on the playground--but first we checked the tree to see if our lizards were there.  Sure enough we saw Paco, Taco, and Baby!  Then two of them went behind the tree to hide, but one stayed to watch us!

When we came in we got started on our centers.  It was our last day to play with the horses, stable, and Lincoln Logs at the rug center--and we made the most of it!  At Miss Lou's center we made PlayDoh cookies--with glitter PlayDoh!  At Miss Kathleen's center we made reindeer food!  We hope Santa's reindeer will come and eat it on Christmas Eve.  While we waited for our friends to finish all of their centers, we decorated our Christmas tree.

After we cleaned up our centers and washed our hands, it was time for our Christmas party!  Thank you to everyone who helped out!

Friday, December 12

After coming in from some fun time on the playground, we started our centers.  We worked our finger muscles--and made some awesome gingerbread decorations--with Play-Doh that smelled like cookies!

At Miss Kathleen's center, we decorated a wreath Christmas ornament--and learned how to turn pipe cleaners into hanging hooks!  Then we played the Christmas story with our Nativity set and decorated our class Christmas tree.

At our rug center, we had another day of horses with our stable and Lincoln Logs.  We can make a whole farm with all of the stuff we have to build with on the rug!

Wednesday, December 10

We had a VERY busy day today!  We finally got to go outside and play for a little while this morning---and it wasn't even wet on the playground.  On our way back in we saw Paco (the lizard), Taco, and a baby lizard who were all hiding behind our Christmas flower tree.

At centers today, Miss Paula and Miss Kathleen worked together to help us with a special Christmas present for our mommies.  It was a little bit messy!  If you see any black on our hands or brown on our feet, it's because they were painted!  While we were waiting our turn, we played with the Nativity scene.  We did a pretty good job taking turns with all of the pieces.

At our rug center we had another day to play with our horses, big stable, and Lincoln Logs.  We've had a lot of fun with all of the things at that center

At our other table center, we had Christmas trees.  Some of us used tweezers to pick up pom-pom decorations and put them on cardboard trees.  Others decorated (and undecorated) our little class tree.  It looked beautiful by the time we were finished!

Monday, December 8

Miss Kathleen wasn't in our classroom today because she didn't feel well, but she came to our Christmas program practice.  We showed everyone what a good job we're doing with our songs for the program--especially the one we sing with the rest of the 3s!

Feliz Navidad!

Wednesday, December 3

Poor Miss Paula!  She was sick today and she missed a lot of fun!  Miss Lesley came in to help us with our Morning Work after carpool, then Miss Amanda joined us for the rest of the day.  Because it was foggy outside, we read Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer and then went on a Rudolph walk outside.  Miss Kathleen held up a red flashlight that we had to make sure to follow as we walked around in the fog and looked at all of the Christmas decorations around the school.

After our walk, it was time for music with Miss Jenna.  We did such a good job with our songs that we got to use the bells to sing Jingle Bells!

At centers today, we played with our set of horses and Lincoln Logs on the rug.  We built some horse pens and stables to help keep the horses safe.  At Miss Amanda's center we used the white boards to practice drawing faces and to show Miss Amanda how well we're learning to write our names. At Miss Kathleen's center we used eye droppers and coffee filters to start making a special Christmas flower called a poinsettia.  We'll finish these on Friday when they're dry.

Finally at the end of the day we watched the end of Spookley, the Square Pumpkin.  We know it's not Halloween anymore, but we've been so busy doing other things that we just didn't have time to watch the end.  We were glad to see that Spookley saved the day and got to be a very special pumpkin on the farmer's porch!
