After music with Miss Megan, we had centers.

At Mrs. Hennessy's center we also worked on a Mother's Day surprise, then made some pipe-cleaner creations--and did a few spontaneous dance moves!

We love this center!

Showing off our moves!

Wednesday, April 24

We had a great day today!  We've started practicing some of our songs for the Mother's Day program, so if you hear some new tunes at home, they might be part of our surprise.

At centers today, we had our last day of Gears/Little People.  We might get to play with some of our Little People during Morning Work for a few more days because some of us aren't quite ready to give them up!

At Mrs. Hennessy's center we put together our May calendars.  When we finished those we made designs out of pipe cleaners and straw pieces.  We didn't get to bring any of these home today though.

We had a lot going on at Miss Kathleen's center.  We read a Clifford magazine about the beach.  Then we looked at some seashells that Alexander shared with us.  We even got to take them home!  We also strengthened our finger muscles by popping bubble wrap.

We enjoyed the beautiful weather out on the playground, then came in for a special snack.  Butterflies!  Well, not real butterflies, but delicious sweet and salty snack butterflies.

When we chose our books to take home, some of us spent a little time reading to our friends!

Field Trip to Ottawa Farms

Even though it was a little bit chilly, we had a great time at Ottawa Farms.  We went on a hay ride, watched some pig races, explored the play area, had a little snack, and picked strawberries!

Friday, April 19

Whew!  What a busy day!  We started out by riding our bikes!  Everyone was very patient as we lined up, went out to our vehicles and put our helmets on, got in line, and started our SLOW procession to the front parking lot.  We all got there safely and had a lot of fun riding around between Mrs. Hennessy and Miss Kathleen.  Some of us took a few rests in the break area--and some of us needed a little help to get going, but all of us were good sports!  Then we lined up and headed back to the classroom for music with Miss Megan.

(Parents, your children really were very patient and well-behaved during our bike day.  It takes a lot  to move all 16 of us from our side of the building to the front parking lot on our bikes.  We spent about 20 minutes getting ready to ride, 10 minutes actually out on the parking lot, and 15 more minutes getting back inside!  Some kids went around once--and then hung out at the break area!  Others stayed at it a little longer.  Everyone had fun!)

Some of us were dressed alike...

and some of us had the same shoes!

All lined up!

Ready to roll!

Taking a break

After our bike riding and our music class, we had some surprise ice pops!

Finally we came back in for centers!  We looked at shells in Miss Kathleen's science center (and listened for the ocean!)  We played gardener at Mrs. Hennessy's sensory tub center; and we played with our Little People at the rug center.

Finally, we celebrated TWO birthdays with some special treats!
