Wednesday, April 27

We had a wonderful bike day today!  We rode all around the front parking lot and practiced our traffic colors of green, yellow, and red.  Then we got to cool off with some ice pops!  We even had a little time on the playground where we shared Miss Heather's water painting activity.

Happy Easter!

Thanks to Kalla and her mom for having us over for our Easter Egg Hunt and party.  Have a wonderful Easter break.  See you on Wednesday, April 27th, for our Bike Day!

Monday, April 11

We had a backwards day today!  Right after our morning work, we went out to the playground.  As you can see, many of the girls in our class chose to play together today!

When we came in we had snack and then we did centers.  We had a building/manipulative center with pipe cleaners and Q-tips.  It was amazing how much fun we had with these everyday materials! Up on the rug we played with our horses, our construction set, and some puppets.  At our third center we used a Discovery Toys Playful Patterns kit for the first time.  We made some cool pictures and we practiced the names of some of our shapes.  We like backwards days!

Friday, April 1

Each morning after our opening circle time (calendar, Pledge, etc.) we take a classroom bathroom break.  As we wait in the hall for everyone to finish, we often practice skills like following directions, rhyming, etc.  Here we're practicing our listening skills while learning about opposites.  We did open/shut, up/down, and in/out, as you can see with our cheeks in this picture!

At our centers today we used watercolors at the table instead on the easel; played Animal/ABC Bingo; and played with building and linking materials on the rug.  We also got to go outside and finally enjoy some sunshine!
